robot army z - issue 1 “the awakening”

I worked construction all my life in the Philadelphia area, including Center City Philly. It was natural to target the “City of Brotherly Love” as the location of this Post Apocalyptic story that starts after the last human on earth has died. The “Spirit of Mankind”, in order to survive, moves on to the welded robot sculptures that were built by the humans. Now it’s the robots turn to survive. They become aware in “The City” with no idea why they are there or who built the buildings, but they have a mission. They need to find more like them and fix this place up! Will they get along better than the humans?

It will be an ongoing comic series, fully drawn and colored, as well as lettered by hand.

Any robot drawn in the comic will have been built by me first. I will not draw one that is not based on a real-life robot sculpture.

This comic was first conceived in 2020. Since the moment the story came to me, I started preparing how to present it. I needed to learn how to prepare a script and the art of comic book drawing, inking, and coloring, along with lettering by hand. I drew it first as an attempt to find the style I wanted. After I decided the look, I began penciling my redraw in January of 2023. I completed the color on Sept 1 and after self-publishing it through Morris Publishing, it is ready to go. This is issue 1 in a series that will reach 10 or 12 issues. I am ready to draw issue 2 and I am writing issue 4 at the moment. Also building robots. Enjoy life!

The comic will be bagged and boarded and packaged in a "Gemini 2" comic book mailer.
